Director Anurag Kashyap has shared his feelings about the Bollywood film industry. He has said he is thinking of making films in the South of India instead. In a recent interview with Forbes, he explained why he prefers watching movies at film festivals. He feels that going to Indian theaters is ruining his movie-watching experience because of interruptions and people making comments about the movies.

When asked about the future of independent films, Anurag said, “I have stopped thinking about what’s next. Instead, I focus on my problems and look for solutions. I love watching films on the big screen, but at home, there are too many breaks and people acting like they know what’s best for everyone. It messes up my movie experience.”

Anurag also mentioned that he is passionate about making films for life. He said, “If things go wrong, I can always go back to where I started. I just want to keep making films. Supporting other unique filmmakers helps me too. The more voices there are, the easier it will be for me to create my films. When I began, there weren’t many options for filmmakers like me.”

His last movie, Kennedy, got good reviews at the Cannes Film Festival but hasn’t been released in India yet. Though he hasn’t directed anything since, he has acted in films like Leo, Maharaja, and Viduthalai Part 2.
