Chester Bennington, the late singer of Linkin Park, has a child named Draven who recently revealed she is transgender. On Valentine’s Day, Draven, now 22, shared on Instagram that she uses she/her pronouns and started transitioning last year.
Draven chose Valentine’s Day to celebrate love and decided it was the right time to show love to herself. In her heartfelt message, she talked about how she struggled with being someone she wasn’t inside for a long time. She mentioned that ignoring her true self was difficult, and she eventually realized she wanted to be happy and true to herself.
Last August, Draven began taking hormone replacement therapy to help her transition. She feels this decision has led her to a path of happiness, calling it the best choice she has ever made.
Draven expressed her gratitude for her friends and family who supported her during this journey, especially her mother, who loved her without conditions. She finished her letter by saying, “With all the support and love I’ve received, I’ve built the strength to love myself. This is why I’m choosing to no longer hide who I am. Love is love. Happy Valentine’s Day!”
