Popular YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia is facing serious trouble because of some offensive comments he made on a show called “India’s Got Latent.” After videos of his remarks began to circulate online, many people became upset. Celebrities, including actor Jackky Bhagnani, spoke out against what Ranveer said.
Jackky said, “It’s really wrong… I don’t agree with it at all. I don’t support it either.” On Monday, a lawyer filed a complaint against Ranveer, along with social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina (who hosts the show), and the organizers of “India’s Got Latent.” The complaint was made because viewers found the language used on the show inappropriate.
The situation escalated when Ranveer made a disrespectful joke on the show, which sparked outrage. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) criticized his comments, calling them “disgraceful” and harmful to family values. They demanded that the show be banned and wanted to see action taken against those responsible. AICWA urged actors and filmmakers to stop working with anyone connected to the show.
After facing backlash, Ranveer apologized publicly through a video on his X account. He recognized that his comments were not just offensive but also not funny. Ranveer admitted that comedy is not his strong suit and said he felt bad for his poor judgement. He promised to be more careful with his words, especially considering his influence on younger fans.
In conclusion, he asked the makers of “India’s Got Latent” to take out the insensitive parts from the episode where he made the comments. He said, “All I can say in the end is sorry. I hope you can forgive me.”
