On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of training people for a future powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Speaking at the AI Action Summit in Paris, he highlighted that while many worry about losing jobs due to AI, history shows that jobs change rather than disappear. “We need to invest in teaching and retraining our workforce for this AI-driven future,” he said.
Co-chairing the summit with French President Emmanuel Macron, Modi stressed the need for open and trustworthy systems. He also pointed out the importance of creating data centers that are free from biases. “We must make technology accessible to everyone, especially in countries that need it most,” he added.
Modi noted that AI is growing rapidly, and countries need to work together to create guidelines that reflect shared values and address risks. He also mentioned that AI can improve many areas, such as health, education, and agriculture, helping to achieve sustainable development goals.
In conclusion, Modi called for collaboration to build trustworthy AI technologies and ensure that everyone has access to these powerful tools.
