ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has strongly criticized social media influencer and YouTuber Elvish Yadav for making hurtful comments about Bigg Boss contestant Chum Darang. They have asked the National Commission for Women (NCW) to take action against him for his “derogatory and racist” remarks.

In a letter to the NCW, APSCW chairperson Kenjum Pakam said Yadav’s comments not only insult Darang but also harm all women from Northeast India. “His words damage Chum’s reputation and affect women from our region who want to succeed in Bollywood, leaving them feeling unsafe and neglected,” the letter explained.

Recently, during a podcast with ‘Bigg Boss 18’ second runner-up Rajat Dalal, Yadav allegedly made fun of Darang’s name and mocked those who support her. A clip of the podcast went viral on social media, drawing a lot of anger and criticism.

Pakam urged the NCW to act quickly against Yadav and seek justice for Darang, emphasizing the need to fight racial discrimination against Northeastern women in mainstream media and entertainment.
