Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha announced exciting news on Sunday: the state will have a new heritage five-star hotel! He revealed this at a meeting of the State Engineers’ Association. The Tata Group, known for their world-class hotels, is in talks to build this special hotel, which will have four to five exclusive rooms and many luxurious royal rooms.
Saha believes this hotel will attract tourists from around the world who might even visit in chartered flights. These visitors won’t just stay in the hotel; they will explore amazing places like Rudrasagar, Unakoti archaeological site, Chhabimura, and Dumber Lake. This development is expected to create around 200 new jobs.
However, the CM did not share the exact location for the hotel. In December, some political parties, like CPI(M) and Tipra Motha, opposed the idea of turning the Pushbant Palace, built in 1917, into a five-star hotel. This palace was once home to Tripura’s royal family and was even the site of Rabindranath Tagore’s 80th birthday celebration in 1941.
Additionally, Saha mentioned plans to build four new flyovers to reduce traffic jams in the capital city. Right now, Tripura has just one flyover, but the government is looking for ways to fund these new projects.
