A man named Prakash Mahato, who went missing 15 years ago, was found just when his family was about to apply for his death certificate. This amazing discovery happened in Koderma, Jharkhand, after he heard something that reminded him of home.

Prakash lived in Kadodih and worked for the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. He disappeared on May 9, 2010, when he was traveling to Kolkata for his job. His family tried everything to find him, even reporting him missing to the police, but for over a decade, there was no sign of him.

The story took a surprising turn when police received a call from a hotel owner in Raniganj, West Bengal. The hotel owner said he had a man who looked like Prakash staying with him. The police quickly told Prakash’s family, who rushed to see if it was really him.

On January 7, Prakash’s family joyfully reunited with him at the police station. For the past 15 years, he had been working at the hotel and was known as “Wrestler.” The hotel owner was the one who helped him and had given him a job.

The breakthrough happened when Prakash heard his family talk about going to the Maha Kumbh Mela, a big festival. He became excited and insisted he must go, saying it was along the way to his home. This made everyone curious and led them to find out who he really was, so they called the police for help.

Prakash, now 52, saw his wife, Geeta Devi, and their two children, Sujal (18) and Rani (16), who had only seen their father in pictures. Geeta, who had raised the kids alone while working hard, was very emotional.

Just 10 days before he was found, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation sent a notice because they needed money from him while he was missing. His family was getting ready to apply for a death certificate, not knowing he was alive. The paperwork was still not finished when they found him.

The hotel owner promised to take them all to the Kumbh Mela, which is where the journey began that brought Prakash back to his family.
