AAP leader Manish Sisodia has accepted defeat in the Jangpura constituency after losing the election by about 600 votes. After counting the votes, he congratulated the winning candidate and expressed hope that they would help improve the community. “We worked hard, and our supporters stood by us. I wish the winner the best and hope they will focus on the people’s needs,” Sisodia told reporters.
Before the election, Tarvinder Singh Marwah, the candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), had called Sisodia an outsider and claimed he would lose if he ran in Jangpura. Marwah, who has been a local representative three times before but on the Congress party ticket, joined BJP in 2022. He expressed surprise that Sisodia had chosen to run in Jangpura instead of his previous seat, Patparganj, which he held from 2013 to 2024.
