As the results come in for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Manish Sisodia is in the lead for the Jangpura assembly seat. He is competing against Tarvinder Singh Marwah from the BJP and Farhad Suri from the Congress party.

Manish Sisodia, who has faced a lot of challenges recently, was in jail for most of 2023 and 2024 due to the Delhi excise policy case. He is now out on bail and is trying to win the Jangpura seat after previously winning three times in Patparganj.

While voting, Sisodia expressed hope that his work in education would help his party win. “I just cast my vote for a better life for the people of Delhi. I ask everyone to vote for better education for their kids, health for their families, and good electricity and water. I hope ‘Shiksha ki Kranti’ will win,” he said.

Despite his optimism, exit polls suggest that the AAP might not do well in the elections, with many predicting a big win for the BJP.

In Jangpura, Sisodia has been accused by his party of voter bribery in the Sarai Kale Khan area, a claim that the police have denied.

About Manish Sisodia:
Manish Sisodia is a journalist-turned-politician and a close ally of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He co-founded the Aam Aadmi Party and has been a member of its political committee. Sisodia first became a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in 2013, winning against BJP’s Nakul Bhardwaj. He continued to win in 2015 and 2020, though he faced tougher competition in 2020, winning by just 3,000 votes. He was the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi when he was arrested and has played an essential role in education policy.

Kejriwal has confirmed that Sisodia will be the AAP’s candidate for Deputy Chief Minister if the party wins
