A Canadian man was sent back to Canada after being caught trying to convert people in Jorhat, Assam. The police found out that he had been living in the area since 2021, but his visa expired on January 17 this year. He asked to renew his visa, but while checking his background, the police discovered he was involved in proselytising, which means trying to spread his religion.

Because of this, the police reported him to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Kolkata. They decided he had to leave the country, so they gave him a ‘Leave India Notice,’ telling him he must go. The local police helped make sure he left India. Earlier this week, they took him to the FRRO in Kolkata, and from there, he flew back to Canada from New Delhi.
