Rakesh Roshan, a well-known filmmaker, recently talked about two very serious moments in his life: when he was shot in 2000 and when he learned he had cancer in 2018. In an interview, he shared that on the morning of his cancer surgery, he was working out at the gym with his son, Hrithik Roshan.

Rakesh said, “I didn’t think too much about it when I got shot. I joked around to keep everyone happy, so they wouldn’t worry too much. I did the same when I found out I had cancer.” He explained that Hrithik and he spent an hour at the gym before heading to the hospital. The surgery started at 1 PM, and by 5 PM, he was up and walking. Rakesh believes staying strong in your mind helps you get through tough times.

In 2018, Rakesh was diagnosed with throat cancer. He remembered that when he received the biopsy results on December 15, he felt a little scared, especially when he learned his tongue might need surgery. “I didn’t want that. Having cancer in the mouth is really serious,” he said.

Hrithik also spoke about the day his father was shot. He remembered feeling scared for a moment when he saw blood in the hospital but then saw his dad talking and laughing, which made him feel better. Rakesh was shot just a week after Hrithik’s first movie, “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai,” which Rakesh directed. Two men from the Mumbai underworld injured him during the attack.
