baba ramdev urges devotees to go to nearest ghat for amrit snan after maha kumbh incident

On Wednesday, a scary situation happened at the Maha Kumbh festival in Prayagraj, where many people got injured in a crowded area. To help, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev advised everyone to go to the nearest riverbank, or “ghat,” instead of trying to reach the very busy Sangam, where the Ganga and Yamuna rivers meet. Ramdev said that if everyone is careful and patient, the situation will be safer and smoother for all.

He reminded us that being patient is very important, especially in large crowds, and encouraged people to enjoy their time at their nearest ghat, as the holy water will flow to all places in Prayagraj.

Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya also shared the message, asking people not to rush to the Sangam Ghat since too many people have gathered. He urged everyone to stay safe and stay at their camps.

Swami Chidanand Saraswati from Parmarth Niketan Ashram cancelled group bathing and asked people to take a dip at their nearest Ganga Ghat for everyone’s safety. He wished for the quick recovery of those who were hurt.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath twice to check on the situation and provide support, and the local government is working hard to keep everyone safe.

In the early morning, many devotees came to the Kumbh Mela for a holy dip on Mauni Amavasya, a significant day for bathing. Due to the large crowds, Special Executive Officer Akanksha Rana explained that a stampede-like situation happened when some barriers broke, but those injured are getting treated.

To prevent more overcrowding, police in Raebareli set up checkpoints to manage the number of vehicles bringing people to the event. Mauni Amavasya is expected to attract 80-100 million visitors. Other important dates during the Kumbh Mela include February 3 (Basant Panchami), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri).
