On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared exciting news about India’s potential for live concerts. He pointed out how successful the Coldplay concerts were in Mumbai and Ahmedabad as proof that big events can thrive in the country.
Speaking at the Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 in Bhubaneswar, PM Modi encouraged both the government and private companies to work together to improve the places where these concerts can happen. He said, “Recently, we saw incredible pictures of the Coldplay concerts. This shows just how much India can offer for live shows.”
PM Modi explained that many famous artists from around the world are now interested in performing in India, which helps tourism and creates lots of job opportunities. He urged everyone to think about the necessary preparations like event management, artist training, security, and other arrangements to support this concert business.
Coldplay, led by Chris Martin, amazed their fans with five concerts in India. Their final show in Ahmedabad gathered a record-breaking 134,000 people, making it the largest ticketed concert in India – 60,000 more than the previous record!
The Prime Minister also talked about the upcoming World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) happening next month in India. He believes this event will show the world India’s creative talents and help the economy grow. “WAVES will be a big step for India, helping us share our creativity with the rest of the world,” he said.
