Delhi is feeling a lot colder this morning! The temperature dropped to 6.6 degrees Celsius, and some areas were blanketed in a thin layer of fog. Just yesterday, the temperature was 7.8 degrees Celsius, so we are definitely feeling the chill.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has some updates for us! They expect rain in Delhi on February 1. For the next four days, starting January 28, we can expect foggy weather too. The temperature will likely stay between 7 and 11 degrees Celsius. This drop in temperature started last Thursday when it was around 11 degrees.

For those living in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana, a cold wave is likely going to be felt in some areas today. In Uttar Pradesh, thick fog may reduce visibility during the night and early morning hours until January 30.

In Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, the fog is so thick that it caused low visibility on Tuesday.

As for air quality in Delhi, it is currently listed as poor, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 258 according to the Central Pollution Control Board. Just a few days ago, on Saturday morning, the AQI was much better at 191.

To clarify the AQI:
– 0-50: Good
– 51-100: Satisfactory
– 101-200: Moderate
– 201-300: Poor
– 301-400: Very Poor
– 401-500: Severe

On a brighter note, many people took a dip at the Triveni Sangam during Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, even though it was chilly! Starting today, Prayagraj can expect temperatures to be around 8-10 degrees Celsius for three days. The second Shahi Snan is happening on January 29, which is when more visitors are expected at the Mahakumbh Mela due to the special occasion of Mouni Amawasya.
