Indian Minister Jaishankar to Visit UAE to Boost Friendship on Jan 27-29, 2025

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is going to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from January 27-29, 2025. His visit aims to make the friendship between India and the UAE even stronger. They will discuss how to improve their partnership across different areas, like trade and culture.

Minister Jaishankar will talk with UAE leaders about ways to work together better and will give an important speech at a political forum called Raisina Middle East in Abu Dhabi. India and the UAE have been good friends since they started working together in 1972.

This visit comes after many important exchanges between India and the UAE, like when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited in 2015, which was the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 34 years. Their relationship got even better when Prime Minister Modi attended the COP28 World Climate Action Summit in Dubai in late 2023.

A big part of the friendship is due to the large Indian community in the UAE, which makes up about 35% of the population. With 3.5 million Indian people living there, they are the biggest group in the UAE and play an important role in the economy. Over time, Indians in the UAE have become more than just workers; they are now professionals and entrepreneurs who help improve the country’s economy.

Many Indians in the UAE are also recognized for their contributions to culture and society, winning awards like the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award and Padma awards. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they were especially helpful in providing support and aid.

Minister Jaishankar’s visit will be a great chance to make the India-UAE friendship even stronger and help both countries grow together in politics and economics.
