On Monday, Congress leaders held a press conference where they accused the AAP government in Punjab of allowing Khalistani ideas and radicalism to grow. They said the way AAP runs things could “destroy the country.”

Ajay Maken, who is part of Congress, along with former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, claimed there have been 11 grenade attacks in Punjab, but the government has done nothing and the media hasn’t reported much about it. They said the grenades were made in Australia and were used in major attacks like the 2001 Parliament attack and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Randhawa criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, calling him a “coward” for not speaking out against those promoting Khalistani ideas and demanded answers from AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal regarding these accusations.

During the conference, Congress showed a PowerPoint presentation titled “AAP Ki Paap Ki Kadi,” which included warnings from former Punjab police chief KPS Gill about the rise of radicalism if AAP was in charge. Randhawa also displayed details of terrorist attacks that, according to Congress, the AAP government did not address.

They further claimed that Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of the banned group Sikhs for Justice, had met Kejriwal in 2014 and received funding from him. They also alleged interactions between AAP member Raghav Chadha and the same group.

While condemning a recent attack on BR Ambedkar’s statue in Amritsar, Maken labeled it a “condemnable act” and questioned Kejriwal, asking, “Are you a traitor?” He urged voters in Delhi to reject AAP and not to support a party that ignores Khalistani sentiments.

When asked if Congress would end its alliance with AAP, Maken didn’t provide a clear answer.
