On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished everyone a Happy Republic Day as India celebrates its 76th Republic Day. He praised the great men and women who made the Constitution, which upholds democracy, dignity, and unity. The celebrations are a time to strengthen our commitment to these ideals and work towards a stronger and prosperous India.
This year, the Republic Day parade will be held at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the events, with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as the Chief Guest. Around 10,000 special guests from different fields will be there to watch the parade, promoting the idea of public involvement in national events.
For the first time, a tri-services tableau will show how the Army, Navy, and Air Force work together, with the theme ‘Strong and Safe India’. The parade will start at 10:30 AM and will last about 90 minutes. It will begin with PM Modi paying respects at the National War Memorial, laying a wreath for fallen heroes.
The President will take the salute during the parade, which will feature the President’s Bodyguard. The National Flag will be raised, followed by the National Anthem and a loud salute of 21 guns.
Brave leaders who won the highest awards for bravery will also be honored. These include Subedar Major Yogendra Singh Yadav and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar, who won the Param Vir Chakra for exceptional courage.
The Indonesian military will join the parade with a group of 152 members and a 190-member military band. The parade will also feature the famous 61 Cavalry, which is the only serving horse cavalry unit in the world.
One of the exciting moments will be the Fly-past, showcasing 40 aircraft, including Rafale jets and Apache helicopters. The ceremony will end with the national anthem and colorful balloon releases celebrating 75 years of India’s Constitution.
