On Saturday, Coldplay made history by performing their biggest concert ever at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which can hold over 100,000 fans. The British rock band shared on their official X handle, “Our biggest ever concert. Totally mind-blowing. Thank you, Ahmedabad ❤️! See you again tomorrow. If you’re in India, join us on Disney+ Hotstar at 7:45 PM! ✨”
Coldplay will perform another concert at the same stadium on Sunday. This concert will also be livestreamed on Disney+ Hotstar in India to celebrate Republic Day.
Earlier, Coldplay posted a fun picture where they drew a cricket ball and joked, “I think even Jasprit might struggle to bowl with this badly drawn ball. It is such a pleasure to be here at this amazing stadium and to play in Ahmedabad for the very first time.” Coldplay is really into cricket! During their concert in Mumbai earlier this month, Chris Martin, the lead singer, even showed a video of Jasprit Bumrah’s amazing bowling skills that helped India win a cricket match against England.
The crowd loved the concert and shared many amazing pictures on social media. Coldplay’s tour in India will have three concerts in Mumbai and two big shows in Ahmedabad. To keep everyone safe, around 3,825 policemen will be on duty around the stadium, along with a team from the National Security Guard, a special forces unit.
