On Friday, three schools in Vadodara, Gujarat, closed for the day after one of them received a scary email claiming there was a bomb. Luckily, it turned out to be just a trick.

The principal of Navrachana International School received the email, which said a bomb with a timer was put in the drainage line of the school. She quickly alerted the police. Because there are two more Navrachana schools in the area, police and special teams, including dogs trained to detect bombs, rushed to check all three schools.

They searched high and low for about three hours but found nothing suspicious. The schools decided to stay closed for safety reasons, and parents were informed about the situation.

Assistant Commissioner of Police G B Bambhania said that the cybercrime unit will look into finding out who sent the email by checking the internet address it came from. Biju Kurien, an administrator from one of the schools, confirmed the holiday and noted that parents were kept in the loop throughout the day.
