In a sad train accident, 11 people died and five were hurt when they got off the Lucknow-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Pushpak Express. They were hit by the Karnataka Express, which was coming from the other direction in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra.
Officials say that the accident happened because some passengers thought there was a fire on the Pushpak Express. Around 5 PM, the train stopped between Maheji and Pardhade stations, and some passengers got out. That’s when the Karnataka Express, which was passing on the other track, struck them.
Swapnil Kumar Leela, a railway officer, mentioned in a video that help is on the way. An accident relief medical van left from Bhusawal to assist the injured passengers. While the Karnataka Express continued on its journey, the Pushpak Express will resume its trip once the injured are helped.
Praveen Gedam, the Nashik divisional commissioner, said that local police and officials are heading to help at the site. Eight ambulances reached the area, and more rescue vans are being sent to assist.
Maharashtra’s chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, shared his sadness on social media, saying he felt heartbroken about the deaths near Pachora in Jalgaon district. He assured that state officials are working with railway staff to provide care for the injured and are readying hospitals for treatment. Emergency supplies, like glass cutters and floodlights, are on standby. The situation is being closely monitored, and immediate help is being organized.
