Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Tuesday that his government is getting ready in case Polish citizens in the United States face deportation. He mentioned that the new U.S. government hasn’t yet shared details about this situation, so they are taking precautions. Tusk stated, “We need to be prepared, even though we don’t know if this operation will affect Polish citizens.”
Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski added that his department is advising Polish people living abroad, especially those with expired passports, to get new ones.
On President Donald Trump’s inauguration day, Poland’s Foreign Ministry released a statement urging all Polish citizens living overseas to return home, although they didn’t specifically mention the U.S. The statement was titled, “Good New Year’s Resolution – Return to Poland!”
