A big fire broke out in the Mahakumbh area of Prayagraj on January 19, affecting many tents. Luckily, no one was hurt. Just two days later, the Uttar Pradesh Food and Logistics Department held a special meeting to talk about how to keep everyone safe from LPG (liquid petroleum gas) during the Mahakumbh Mela.

The meeting included important people like LPG distributors, cooking gas company representatives, and fire department officials. They decided to create strong guidelines to prevent fire accidents caused by gas leaks.

Key points discussed included:

– LPG Cylinder Checks: They will regularly check all LPG cylinders to make sure they are safe. If any cylinder has a gas leak, it will be taken out of use.

– Safety Equipment: They will ensure that all consumers have the right safety gear for their gas cylinders, pipes, and regulators. If any equipment is found to be unsafe, it must be replaced.

– Emergency Teams: Special technical teams have been set up in the fair area to act quickly in case of an emergency.

– Gas Supply Regulation: Only a maximum of 100 kg of gas can be stored in the Mela area, and every delivery vehicle will be registered with the office.

– Stopping Misuse of Domestic Gas: The administration promises strict action against anyone who misuses domestic gas or has unauthorized cylinders.

The Food and Logistics Department reminded all LPG distributors and officials to keep a close eye on gas safety during the Mela.
