Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) member Sanjay Yadav, who is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, says he got a scary phone call from someone claiming to be a gangster in America. The person demanded ₹20 crore (that’s 200 million rupees) and warned Yadav of serious trouble if he didn’t pay up.
Yadav explained that the call came to his assistant’s phone first. When he spoke to the caller, the gangster used a harsh voice, said he had connections in jail, and made it clear he wanted a huge ransom. The threat didn’t stop there; the caller also said he would kidnap Yadav and even harm his children if the money wasn’t given.
The gangster claimed to know Yadav’s travel routes and that he was aware of his family details, saying, “If you want everyone’s safety, give me ₹20 crore, or else.” The caller even threatened that they could harm anyone, saying it didn’t matter if Yadav was a minister or even the Prime Minister.
After hearing these threats, Yadav reported the incident to the police, who have now opened an investigation. This shocking event has raised concerns about the safety of public figures.
Sanjay Yadav is known to be a close friend of Tejaswi Yadav, another important leader in the RJD party. He started his term in the Rajya Sabha in 2024.
