Two men from Uttar Pradesh were arrested for doing something very shocking at a food stall during the Uttarayan Fair in Bageshwar, Uttarakhand. They were caught on video spitting on rotis (a type of flatbread) they were cooking for people at the fair.
The video spread quickly on social media, leading to their arrest by the police. Superintendent of Police, Chandrashekhar Ghodke, identified the suspects as Aamir (30 years old) and Firasat (25 years old). District Magistrate Ashish Bhatgai confirmed that this happened on January 17, and he said immediate action was taken to keep things calm.
After the arrests, the food stall was closed down. A food safety officer, Lalit Mohan Pandey, mentioned that the men will face charges under the Food Safety Act for their actions.
The two men were taken to Almora Jail. Officials promised the public that they are taking strict steps to make sure all food is safe and clean at the fair.
