A video showing a heated argument between a Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk (CCTC) and a passenger has become very popular on the social media site X. The video was recorded by the passenger and starts by showing the officer’s name tag. It then focuses on a box full of cash, including a lot of ₹20 notes.
The passenger explains, “I gave him ₹50 and asked for a return ticket to Kandivali. He said he had no change, even though there were many ₹20 notes right there. I want my change back!” The officer tells him to move aside and threatens to call the Railway Protection Force (RPF) if he doesn’t leave.
The argument got worse when another person suggested that the passenger use a digital scanner to pay. However, the passenger replied, “I don’t have a scanner.” The video was shared with the caption, “Conflict between a passenger and the railway CCTC officer over not giving change, even though there’s enough cash.”
Many people commented on the video, angry at the CCTC officer for not giving the passenger his change. One user wrote, “The spirit of our nation is dying.” Another said, “He’s just acting like this so that the passenger leaves without getting his money back.” One person added, “If they don’t want to give change, that’s their choice.”
Some comments pointed out the difficulty of giving change to everyone since people sometimes come with big ₹500 notes but only want to buy a ticket that costs ₹10-20.
