It’s been 25 years since Abhishek Bachchan first appeared on screen in the 2000 film “Refugee,” which was also Kareena Kapoor’s first movie. In a recent chat with CNBC, Abhishek shared his thoughts on his career and what he hopes for in the future.

When asked if he feels like he’s at the ‘beginning’ or the ‘end’ of his career, Abhishek said, “I think I’m in the beginning part. I’ve been working for 25 years, and I’m not as young as I used to be. But I believe a new chapter is about to start for me. In 2025, it feels like a halfway point.”

Abhishek also talked about his spiritual beliefs, saying he is more into being spiritual than following strict religious rules. He emphasized that his family is the most important thing in his life. He mentioned, “I am who I am because of my family. I do everything for them—my past, present, and future. Their opinion means the world to me. I’m proud of my name, given to me by my grandfather. But I’m even prouder of our family name, which carries love and support. I hope my daughter Aaradhya and the future generations continue to respect this and believe in it.”

In his early career, Abhishek won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for “Refugee,” even though the movie didn’t do well because it competed with Hrithik Roshan’s hit film “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.” His career took off after he played a gangster in Mani Ratnam’s 2004 film “Yuva.” He was last seen in the 2024 movie “I Want to Talk” and is set to appear in “Housefull 5” and “Be Happy” soon.
