Recently, Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for keeping his word about holding assembly elections. He spoke about how important it is for the people to choose their leaders. In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) told other parties in the INDIA bloc, which includes groups like Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, to take a lesson from Omar’s praise.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that Omar Abdullah’s compliments showed how to appreciate the Election Commission, especially when elections are fair and without problems. He mentioned that when opposition parties win elections, they celebrate the process, but when they lose, they complain about it.
Omar Abdullah made his comments during the inauguration of a new tunnel in Ganderbal, which PM Modi opened. He thanked Modi for ensuring that there were no complaints of unfairness during the elections and highlighted the positive relationship between Jammu and Kashmir and Modi. Abdullah also reminded Modi of his promise to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
He expressed hope that this promise would be fulfilled soon, allowing Jammu and Kashmir to regain its status as a state. Abdullah concluded by thanking Modi for visiting Jammu and Kashmir in the cold weather and expressed hope for more visits in the future.
