At the Mahakumbh Mela, the biggest religious festival in the world taking place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, you can meet many different people. Millions of worshippers are gathering to take a holy dip in the Sangam, where the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati meet. One of the most interesting parts of the Mahakumbh is the presence of Babas, or sages.

This year, something special is happening—there’s an ‘IITian Baba’ who is catching everyone’s attention! CNN News18 talked to this Baba, who decided to leave science and follow a spiritual path. During the interview, they noticed how well he spoke and guessed he had a good education. The Baba then shared that he studied aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay, which amazed everyone.

When asked how he ended up in this spiritual role, the Baba, named Abhay Singh, said he believes this is the best stage in life. He explained, “If you keep looking for knowledge, this is where you will find yourself.”

Abhay Singh was born in Haryana and studied for four years at IIT Bombay. After that, he went on to study design. Throughout his education, he was curious about life’s meaning and even took philosophy classes on famous thinkers like Socrates and Plato.

The conversation between the IITian Baba and the interviewer has become popular online, with many people praising Singh for choosing knowledge over money. The Mahakumbh Mela started on January 13 and will continue until February 26.
