The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is looking for ways to make it easier to travel from the new Noida International Airport in Jewar to National Highway 34 (NH-34) in Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr. They are talking to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to figure out the best routes and are preparing a detailed plan for the project.
Before the government started buying land for the airport, the Jewar-Sikandrabad road was the main way to get to Sikandrabad. However, a 3 km piece of that road got affected when 1,334 hectares of land were acquired for the airport. To help with this, an alternative route through the villages of Jahangirpur and Jhajhar was completed, but it is longer and goes through many more villages.
New Possible Route to Khurja:
One option being considered is to create a new road from the airport to Khurja, which connects to NH-34. The final choice of the route will be made after a thorough feasibility study and project report are completed. Officials will gather important information about the road’s path, budget, and length.
Why this New Road Matters:
This new road is essential for making it easier for people in nearby areas to reach the airport. NH-34 is an important highway that connects significant cities like Haridwar, Meerut, and Bulandshahr. The project aims to improve transportation and support the growth of the region.
Current and Upcoming Projects:
Right now, the government is almost done with a 31 km road that connects the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to the airport. Additionally, there is a plan for a new expressway linking the Ganga Expressway to the airport. This expressway would connect to the Yamuna Expressway via NH-34 and go through several villages.
Authorities are being careful with the layout of all these roads to ensure they don’t interfere with the new NH-34 road. Completing this NH-34 connection is a top priority for YEIDA, as it will make travel easier and boost the development of the area around the airport.
