Netflix is launching a new stop-motion animated series called My Melody & Kuromi. This show celebrates the beloved Sanrio characters, My Melody and Kuromi. My Melody first appeared in 1975 and is still adored by fans, while Kuromi, who became popular in 2005, is known as My Melody’s rival—but she has her own fun personality!
The series is directed by Tomoki Misato, who is excited about this special project that honors both characters’ anniversaries. Misato has worked on other cool shows like Pui Pui Molcar and is ready for the creative challenge this series brings.
The script was written by award-winning writer Shuko Nemoto during the pandemic. She collaborated with Misato and the team through online meetings to make sure everything flowed smoothly.
My Melody & Kuromi will be the first stop-motion series from Toruku, a company linked to WIT Studio. The production will use handcrafted stop-motion techniques, offering a unique viewing experience with a great storyline.
When and Where to Watch:
The series will be available to watch on Netflix around the world starting in July. Don’t miss it!
