A tech worker recently started a discussion about salaries for fresh graduates on social media. Many people think that the money new workers earn is too low, making it tough for them to live independently or save for the future. The tech worker mentioned that a starting salary of 3.6 lakhs per year isn’t so bad, especially for someone from a “tier 500 college.”
He said, “I might get in trouble for saying this, but 3.6 LPA isn’t bad if you come from a school that isn’t well-known and if you don’t have strong programming skills.” He believes that graduates from less prestigious colleges shouldn’t expect to earn big salaries. He added, “You can’t expect a 1 crore package if your resume only shows your degree.”
Many people reacted to his comments online, and some agreed with him. One user pointed out that just because someone goes to a top college, it doesn’t mean they are automatically more talented. The tech worker responded by clarifying that he was only talking to those who don’t have programming skills and rely on their bachelor’s degree for job applications.
Another person who agreed said, “It’s true, I should be thankful, but it hurts when my resume looks good in theory, but not in practice.” The tech worker assured everyone that he wasn’t telling people to settle for less. Instead, he suggested that if someone feels they deserve more money, then that job might not be a good fit for them
