Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, recently spoke about his relationship with Elon Musk. After Musk suggested that Farage should step down as leader of Reform UK, Farage said they are still on “very good terms.” During an interview with BBC’s Newsnight, Farage explained that while Musk wasn’t happy with him, there is no long-term problem between them.
The disagreement started when Musk wanted Farage to support Tommy Robinson, a far-right activist who is currently in jail. Farage, however, refused to back him. “I can’t be pushed or bullied,” Farage told Sky News, emphasizing that he sticks to his beliefs even when it causes problems.
There were talks about Musk making a big donation to Reform UK before he made his critical comments. Musk and Farage met last year at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, which Farage called a “historic” meeting.
During a speech at his party’s conference, Farage also criticized local councils that are trying to push back elections this year, calling it “political cowardice.” He expressed his anger, saying it takes away people’s right to vote.
He happily welcomed new members who joined Reform UK from the Conservative party, including young councillor Harrison Allman-Varty, who made history by becoming the youngest borough councillor at just 18.
