Coldplay is all set to visit India, and they got a little taste of the country when they performed in Abu Dhabi. During the concert, lead singer Chris Martin noticed a sign from a fan that said, “Punjabi aa gaye oye,” which means “Punjabis have arrived.” He read the sign out loud, making the crowd very happy! He even added, “We love you too.”

The phrase “Punjabi aa gaye oye” became famous thanks to Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, who was the first Punjabi performer at Coachella in 2023. Now, it’s a fun slogan for Punjabis around the world.

Diljit has been busy too! He completed his Dil-Luminati Tour across many cities in India last year, including Gurgaon, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, ending the tour in Ludhiana on New Year’s Eve.

After their concert in Abu Dhabi, Coldplay will perform in India for the Music of the Spheres tour. They will play in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, and then in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26. This will be their first performance in India in over eight years since they last played at the Global Citizen Festival in 2016.

Both Coldplay and Diljit have faced some controversies about ticket sales, as many tickets were sold out quickly, leading to claims of ticket black marketing.
