In 2024, Earth reached its highest temperatures ever recorded. This news comes from various weather agencies and was reported by the Associated Press. Many are worried about this because it means we are facing serious climate problems.

In places like Las Vegas, where Hollywood thrives, wildfires are destroying homes. Professor Marshall Shepherd from the University of Georgia stated, “This is a warning sign that we need to take action right now.” He also mentioned that events like Hurricane Helene, floods in Spain, and wildfires in California show that our climate is changing fast. We still have some time to improve our situation, but we need to start now.

The global average temperature in 2024 not only broke the record set in 2023 but also surpassed the safe limit of 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) set by the 2015 Paris climate agreement. According to the European Commission’s Copernicus Climate Service and other weather agencies, the Earth’s temperatures are now higher than what humans have ever experienced.

Although we haven’t permanently crossed this dangerous threshold, experts warn that we are getting very close.
