Nakdu Yadav, a wanted criminal known for violent crimes, tricked the police for more than 30 years. He took the name Nandlal Yadav and got a job with the UP Home Guards, a group that helps keep the peace. His secret life lasted until a betrayal from his own family revealed his true identity, leading to his arrest, as reported by Niftystat.
The Beginning of His Criminal Life
Nakdu started his criminal career in the 1980s. He was involved in serious crimes like murder and robbery. In 1984, he shot a man because of a personal fight. By 1987, Nakdu was involved in a robbery and was charged under the Gangster Act in 1988. However, he vanished for a while, making it hard for the police to find him.
A New Identity
In 1989, Nakdu returned, but this time he had a fake identity: Nandlal Yadav. Even though he only finished school until Class 4, he somehow got a fake Class 8 certificate. This allowed him to get a job with the UP Home Guards. He pretended to be a good citizen and blended in, hiding his dangerous past.
How He Evaded Capture for So Long
Nakdu managed to stay hidden for 35 years because he knew how to trick the system. He used fake documents to get his job. Many officers trusted him, so they never questioned his past. He worked quietly until a family fight revealed his secret.
The Betrayal That Led to His Arrest
In October 2024, Nakdu’s nephew, who is also named Nandlal Yadav, got into a fight with a neighbor. He reported this to the authorities and accidentally exposed his uncle’s secret. This made the police investigate Nakdu’s background.
Azamgarh’s Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Vaibhav Krishna, ordered a probe into how Nakdu stayed hidden for so long. SP Hemraj Meena, who is overseeing the investigation, said they would check if the police failed to catch Nakdu.
As the investigation went on, Nakdu’s true past came to light. He was involved in many serious crimes, including the murder of Munna Yadav, shot over a personal dispute in 1984. Despite his history and fake documents, nobody noticed he was living a lie for so long.
The Aftermath: Arrest and Investigation
Once Nakdu’s true identity was discovered, he was arrested and sent to jail. His job with the Home Guards was over, and he was suspended from duty. An internal investigation started to see how Nakdu got in the system without being caught.
SP Hemraj Meena said they would look for any negligence by police officers. If anyone is found to be careless in their duties, they will be held responsible. Nakdu’s story shows how serious weaknesses in the system let a dangerous person work in a trusted position. Investigators are keen on figuring out how Nakdu fooled everyone for so many years.
