A 19-year-old intern shared a strange experience on Reddit. She said a 24-year-old coworker wrote a fanfiction story about her and their 43-year-old manager. In the story, both their partners died, making her uncomfortable. The coworker had previously commented that the intern and manager looked “cute” together, which felt weird to her.
When the intern asked the coworker to delete the story, the coworker told her to “lighten up” and said she was planning to publish a book about it! The intern was scared because the coworker suggested she could convince others that the story was about herself instead.
Feeling worried about her job, the intern thought about reporting this to HR. Many people on social media responded, saying it was a serious issue and that she should definitely talk to someone in HR. They mentioned that not reporting it could lead to trouble for her.
