New Delhi: A Delhi court has officially charged a man for trafficking and raping a minor girl. The court found enough evidence to support the case. The judge, Susheel Bala Dagar, also charged a woman for taking advantage of the girl, but cleared another man due to lack of evidence.

The case involves Firoz (also known as Mohammad Jumrat), a woman named Renu Tora, and a man named Deepak Jain. The court’s ruling on December 23, 2024, said that a couple of years before the girl reported the crime on January 29, 2022, Firoz convinced her to work as a domestic helper in various homes. He also sexually assaulted her, even paying her to try and make it seem okay. The court said he committed serious sexual offenses against her.

Firoz and Renu Tora kept the money the girl earned from her job, which was paid by Deepak Jain. Firoz faces serious charges under several laws meant to protect children, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act. The court also stated that Renu Tora is responsible under the Juvenile Justice Act for her actions against the girl. Both Firoz and Renu Tora have pleaded not guilty and want to go to trial.

Deepak Jain was not accused of any wrongdoing by the girl, according to her statement to the magistrate. The court said there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him with any crime. The girl’s story, as mentioned in the FIR, says she was taken from her village in Jharkhand to Ranchi and then to Delhi by Firoz.
