The family of a girl who was raped by Asaram Bapu is getting extra protection after he was given temporary bail by the Supreme Court due to health reasons. Police Officer Sanjay Kumar Sagar said he visited the victim’s home to check on them. A police guard is already protecting the family, and now more officers will help keep them safe. The police are fixing broken CCTV cameras around their house, and the victim’s father has been told to inform the police before he goes out.
The father of the victim is feeling very anxious and said he hasn’t slept well since learning about Asaram’s bail. He worries about his family’s safety. He accused Asaram of being responsible for the murders of four witnesses while he was in jail. The father also claimed that Asaram tried to set up false cases against him and said two of his witnesses are still missing. Although the government promises strict punishment for crimes against children, the family feels that Asaram is getting special treatment from the court.
Asaram is serving a life sentence for sexually assaulting a young girl at his ashram in Jodhpur. The girl’s father reported the crime in Delhi, leading to Asaram’s conviction and life sentence. The Supreme Court has allowed Asaram to remain free until March 31, 2025, with certain conditions. He had received a short leave from jail a few times before.
