Ram Kapoor, a popular actor in TV and movies, recently talked about his childhood as the son of Anil Kapoor, a famous ad expert and rich businessman. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, he shared how choosing to become an actor caused tension between him and his dad.

Ram enjoyed being the only son of a wealthy man, but he decided to leave that comfortable life to chase his dream of acting. He mentioned how it took him almost ten years to find steady jobs in the industry.

When Ram was around 13 or 14, he told his dad he wanted to act. His dad didn’t take him seriously because he had a big company and wanted Ram to take over it. So, when Ram said he didn’t want to follow that path, he understood why his dad was upset.

To pursue his passion, Ram moved to America and enrolled in acting school. After graduating, he came back to India to find work. He felt he needed to prove himself not just to his dad but to the whole family, who expected him to fail and return to business.

During those years in America, his father stopped talking to him and cut off his money. Ram had to manage everything on his own by working at places like Starbucks and selling used cars. He believes that those struggles helped him become who he is today.

His dad finally recognized Ram’s success when employees of his father’s company began asking for pictures with Ram, the actor. Although their relationship was strained for ten years, it improved over time as Ram gained fame, and his father started to respect his choice of career.

Ram Kapoor is famous for his roles as Jai Walia in “Kasamh Se” and Ram Kapoor in “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.” He has also acted in films like “Student of the Year” and “Thappad.” Recently, he appeared in the web series “Khalbali Records.”
