The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken new shots at Delhi’s Chief Minister Atishi, who is also a leader in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). They said her family has supported Afzal Guru, a man convicted for the Parliament attack. Recently, the two parties have been arguing because of controversial remarks made by BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri about Atishi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

Bidhuri made comments that upset many people, comparing roads in Kalkaji to “Priyanka Gandhi’s cheeks.” He also criticized Atishi for changing her surname from “Marlena” to “Singh,” suggesting she should have kept her family name. Even though he apologised later, the Congress Party accused him of being against women.

The AAP fought back against these comments, focusing on how they were disrespectful. A BJP leader named Baijayant Jay Panda claimed that Atishi has not spoken out against her family’s past support for Afzal Guru. He said that her party is also disrespectful to women and mentioned that the former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was once in jail and called a “temporary CM.”

On another note, Atishi accused the BJP-led government of taking away her official house, which the BJP called a “lie.” A BJP leader named Amit Malviya claimed that Atishi didn’t take possession of her new official house, known as “Sheesh Mahal,” for two reasons: she didn’t want to offend Arvind Kejriwal and there’s an investigation by the CBI/ED related to her. The BJP often criticizes Kejriwal over house expenses from previous renovations.
