Florence Pugh, a Hollywood star, recently shared her thoughts about her role in the creepy movie “Midsommar.” While she is proud of how she acted in the film, she also said she has decided not to take on similar projects in the future. On the “Reign with Josh Smith” podcast, the 29-year-old actress explained that working on “Midsommar” made her feel very stressed.
She said, “There have been some roles where I’ve given too much and felt broken afterwards. In ‘Midsommar’, I really pushed myself to the limit.” However, she didn’t say she regrets being a part of the movie. “I’m really proud of what I did, and I love the work that came out of me. But, you must take care of yourself, too,” she added.
“Midsommar,” directed by Ari Aster, came out in 2019 and got a lot of praise for being scary even in bright sunlight. The story is about a group of friends who go to Sweden for a special summer festival, but things turn dark as they discover the community has troubling secrets. Pugh also mentioned that Aster tried to keep everyone happy on set: “Once you laugh at one thing, he will try to make you laugh at all the other things. He’ll keep going until we are all laughing together.”
Florence Pugh has also starred in popular films like “Little Women” and “Black Widow.” Recently, she appeared in “We Live in Time” with Andrew Garfield. Her next movie is Marvel’s “Thunderbolts,” which will come out this May.
