Ahead of 2025, rumors were flying around that Cristiano Ronaldo might leave Saudi Arabia for Europe in January. However, Ronaldo has denied these rumors in an interview. He said he plans to see through his contract with Al Nassr, the Saudi club he joined after leaving Manchester United in 2022. His contract is worth a whopping 177 million pounds a year and will end in the summer.
In his talk with the Saudi Pro League’s media, Ronaldo mentioned, “I’m happy, and my family is happy here. We’ve started a new life in this beautiful country. Life and football are good. We’re improving as a team.”
Ronaldo acknowledged that teams like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad are tough to beat, but he insists that he and his team are still working hard. He believes in staying professional and respecting his club and contract, hoping to win more titles with Al Nassr.
His biggest goal right now is to win the AFC Champions League for Al Nassr, saying, “Winning the Champions League is important to me for the club. But I have to keep working hard and be professional.”
He’s also eager to win the league title, something he hasn’t accomplished yet. So far, with Al Nassr, he has only won the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.
Throughout his amazing career in Europe, Ronaldo won five Ballon d’Or awards, three UEFA Men’s Player of the Year awards, four European Golden Shoes, and was named FIFA’s Best Player five times.
