Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, is currently in jail but recently said something very interesting. He explained that while he was in Attock Jail, he was offered a chance to leave the country for three years but decided not to take it. He wants to stay and fight for his beliefs in Pakistan.

In a message on X, he stated, “I will live and die in Pakistan.” He also mentioned that he was offered a chance to move to his home in Islamabad, called Bani Gala, but he said no. Khan stressed that he won’t discuss his own situation until his supporters and party leaders, who are also in jail, are freed.

Khan believes that decisions about Pakistan should be made within the country. However, he understands that people around the world may speak out about human rights issues. He remarked that important groups like the United Nations help raise awareness about basic human rights.

He said that the current situation in Pakistan is very troubling. He pointed out how personal freedoms are being violated and that the government is acting like a dictatorship. He noted that the recent long sentence given to Khalid Khurshid, a former chief minister, shows that there is no real justice anymore.

Khan compared the present day to the time of former military leader Musharraf, saying that even then they did not face such harsh treatment. When asked about the possibility of Donald Trump’s government pressuring the Pakistani government to let him out of jail, Khan said he hopes Trump will stay neutral. He claimed that Biden had a role in his ousting as prime minister.

Talking about his political party, Khan mentioned that they are in talks with the current government and have demands, including forming a fair judicial commission to investigate past incidents and releasing political prisoners.

In recent events, supporters of Khan’s party took action against military buildings after he was arrested last year, but he insists that their actions were not as they are being reported and that serious investigations are needed.

He also mentioned that they have asked the government to respond to their demands by January 31. Meanwhile, his party is continuing a campaign to stop sending money home until things improve but said they could reconsider if the government takes their concerns seriously.

The discussions between Khan’s party and the government are ongoing, with hopes to relieve the political tension in the country.
