In New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu will honor this year’s Pravasi Bharatiya Samman (PBS) during the big PBD Convention. This award recognizes the amazing achievements of people with Indian roots living abroad.

Some of this year’s award winners include Baroness Usha Kumari Prashar from the UK for her work in politics and Dr. Sharmila Ford from the US for her community service. Other honor winners include recognized institutions, showcasing the great contributions of our diaspora.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman is the highest award given to overseas Indians for their exceptional work in both India and around the world. The award ceremony will take place at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from January 8 to 10.

The selection was made by a special committee led by the Vice President and included many distinguished members from different fields. Among those celebrated are Prof. Ajay Rane from Australia for community service and Dr. Marialena Joan Fernandes from Austria for education. Additionally, Jaggannath Shekhar Asthana from Romania will receive an award for his business contributions. Organizations like Saraswati Vidya Niketan from Guyana and Hindustani Samaj from Russia are also honored for their community service.
