On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open many new development projects in Delhi, including 1,675 new homes for people living in slums. These flats are part of a program to help those in Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters find better living conditions. Modi will hand over the keys to some lucky families at a place called Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar.
In addition to the flats, he will also lay the foundation stone for Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh. This college will have modern facilities for learning, as well as important buildings in East Delhi and Dwarka.
Due to the Prime Minister’s visit, the police have set up traffic restrictions to help keep things running smoothly. Here are the roads that will be affected:
Traffic Restrictions:
1. Mall Road: Hakikat Nagar Red Light to Azadpur Chowk (both sides).
2. GTK Road: Azadpur Chowk to Gurudwara Nanak Pio.
3. Bhamashah Marg: From Model Town-1 to Nanak Pio.
4. Lala Achhintam Marg & Brahma Kumari Marg: In Gujranwala & Derawal areas.
5. Nahar Singh Marg: From Prembari Chowk to Inderlok Metro Station (both sides).
6. Gulab Singh Marg: Satyawati College to Prerna Chowk.
7. Swami Narayan Marg: Delhi Jal Board Red Light to Laxmi Bai College.
8. Mahatma Gandhi Marg: From Britannia Chowk to Azadpur.
People who plan to travel to Azadpur, Model Town, Kingsway Camp, Gujranwala Town, Derawal Nagar, Swabhiman Apartment, and Ram Leela Ground in Ashok Vihar should plan for extra travel time.
Date and Time of Restrictions:
Traffic will be affected from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on January 3, 2025.
General Instructions:
Drivers and the public are asked to be patient, follow traffic rules, and listen to the traffic officers at busy spots. Keep an eye on the traffic updates from Delhi Traffic Police’s official channels.
