New Delhi: Blinkit has just launched a new ambulance service that promises to get help to you in just 10 minutes! This service is currently being tested in some areas of Gurugram. Piyush Goyal, the commerce and industry minister, reminded everyone that companies must follow the laws in our country. He said, “Blinkit and others should make sure they follow the law and regulations about ambulance services and medicine delivery.”

Earlier this week, the commerce ministry had a meeting with quick delivery companies like Blinkit to talk about how they run their operations, including their warehouses. Minister Goyal also mentioned that they are keeping an eye on small shops that have concerns about these quick delivery services. He stated that the Competition Commission of India is already taking action if they find any unfair practices.

Regarding startups, Goyal noted that not many Indian unicorns (companies valued at over a billion dollars) have lost their status recently. Although there have been a few changes in valuation over the past year, he assured that the government does not interfere with how companies are valued in the market, whether they are rising or falling.

Goyal praised the growth of startups in India, mentioning that around 150,000 startups are present in the country, and about 85-90% of districts have at least one startup. He also highlighted that the Startup India program, which started in 2015, is still going strong after 10 years. The government provides funds through SIDBI to support these startups. He added that the Angel Tax, which was a concern for many startups, has also been addressed in the budget, helping them to grow.

Goyal believes that India is the best place for tech innovation and that no investor hesitates to invest big amounts here. Additionally, 50 agreements have been signed with companies to help promote manufacturing startups in India.
