Elon Musk is in the news again! This time, he criticized the FBI’s New Orleans division for posting a fun picture on social media. They shared an image of agents wearing friendship bracelets inspired by Taylor Swift. Musk re-shared a post from Senator Marsha Blackburn, who was angry that the FBI seemed more interested in pop culture than their real job.
This comes right after a very sad event in New Orleans. On New Year’s Day, a truck drove into a crowd, killing at least 15 people and injuring about 30 more. Officials think it might be connected to terrorism and are looking for answers.
Musk’s feud with Taylor Swift started during the 2024 presidential election when she supported Kamala Harris, who was running against Donald Trump. Since then, Musk and Trump have both made remarks about Swift.
Musk called out the FBI again, saying they should focus on criminals and terrorists, especially after the tragic incident on Bourbon Street. The Facebook post he was upset about was from October 27, 2024, thanking Swift fans for sending gifts to the agents.
The driver of the truck, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, was a 42-year-old Army veteran from Texas. He was killed by police at the scene. The attack happened during a busy New Year’s celebration in the French Quarter. Some victims were a soon-to-be nurse, a single mother, a father of two, and a former college football player.
Authorities found two explosives in Jabbar’s vehicle and think he might have connections to terrorist groups. The FBI even discovered an ISIS flag in his car. President Biden mentioned that there’s no link between this tragic event and a separate explosion involving a Tesla vehicle in Las Vegas, but investigations continue.
