Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, recently said that once the new capital, Amaravati, is fully built, it will become a major spot for making movies. He shared this during a casual chat with the media at the Telugu Desam Party office in Mangalagiri. CM Naidu talked about how Hyderabad in Telangana has become a popular place for films and how much potential there is for the film industry in Andhra Pradesh. He noted that Hyderabad’s growth as a film hub happened thanks to opportunities created by the previous TDP government.

Naidu is excited about the growing market for Indian films around the world and believes that once Amaravati is ready, all films will be made there.

Additionally, Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Ponguru Narayana, mentioned that the development work in Amaravati is expected to finish in the next three years. He shared that 1.18 lakh (or 118,000) houses by the Andhra Pradesh Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDCO) are set to be completed by June 12 this year.

During a recent meeting, the Chief Minister approved a payment of Rs 102 crores to finish the TIDCO houses, which had not been completed yet. He also informed that the Central Government had approved more than 700,000 housing units between 2014 and 2019, with many already under construction.

Narayana announced that roadwork in Amaravati Zone-7 and Zone-10 will start at a cost of Rs 2,723 crores. So far, the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has approved development projects worth Rs 47,288 crores in Amaravati. Narayana added that more projects will be approved soon, and tenders are expected to be called before January 15.
