NEW DELHI: On Tuesday, many stocks saw big drops in Mumbai, with the main stock index, BSE Sensex, losing 109.12 points and closing at 78,139.01. This decline happened because investors were quickly selling their shares in well-known companies. Notable losers included Nova Pub, which dropped by 20%, and Darshan Orna, down by 19.41%. Other companies like Ashirwad Steels and TGIF Agribusiness also faced significant losses, with decreases of around 12% and 10%, respectively.
In the Nifty index, 26 stocks gained value while 24 stocks decreased. The Nifty closed nearly the same as the previous day, only 0.11 points higher at 23,644.8.
Several companies set new records today. Darshan Orna, Barak Valley, Odigma Consultancy, Palred Technologies, and Universus Photo reached their lowest prices in a year, while ABM Knowledge, Crisil, Sharat Industries, Maestros Elec, and Bampsl Sec increased to their highest prices in the same period.
