Netflix’s hit show, Squid Game, is back with Season 2, and people can’t stop talking about it! The new season has already made history by being the first series on Netflix to reach the top spot in all 93 countries where Netflix is available. That means everyone from the United States to Kenya is tuning in!

The first season was a massive success, with 265.2 million views, which is like 2.2 billion hours of people watching! It was the most popular show on Netflix, not just in South Korea, but all over the globe. So far, we don’t know how many people are watching Season 2, but many are curious to see if it can beat the viewing record of Season 1.

However, the reaction to Season 2 isn’t as strong as the first one. It has a score of 63% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to an 83% score for Season 1.

The new season celebrates its arrival on Netflix this Christmas. Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator, writer, and director of the show, returns to tell more of the story. The series follows people who are struggling with money as they compete in deadly games for a huge cash prize.

This season introduces new characters and dives deeper into their stories. The main character, Seong Gi-hun, is played by Lee Jung-jae. Other stars include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Park Gyu-young, and Choi Seung-hyun. Fans are already buzzing about a third and final season, expected to come out in 2025!
